"The Great American Paint Chip Sample series.
I am working on a gallery show here in my hometown. While some people know me only as a cartoonist, many others don't have any idea as to what I do. I create odd paintings, drawings usually of distorted people with a very americana flair. As I have stated before, I love a certain time period in American history, where men were men, women were lovely, and the need to create, design and build everything we enjoy today was heavy on their shoulders. The great 1920'-40's to me showed what Americans could do with a little ingenuity, long hours, calloused hands and a certain grit and determination. My grandparents and their relatives, mostly rural people, church going, and hard working individuals made out of iron and steel, have always been the impetus of my drawings, and now paintings. I have three more to finish before my show, which will include the The Box drawings and these Paint Chip Series.
